Made to measure for individuals, cliques and Guggenmusik
You have an idea but no costume for it? We sew your carnival costume in Lucerne from scratch – from a sketch, a photo or simply a description. You choose fabric and colours, we make the pattern, sew and invite you for a fitting. In the end the costume fits well enough to last three days.
First we talk through your Sujet and look at fabrics together – cotton, felt, velvet, faux fur or weatherproof blends. Then we take measurements, make the pattern and sew a first piece for a fitting. At the fitting we correct sleeve length, shoulder width and fullness so you can move freely with an instrument, a backpack or a winter jacket underneath.
For groups we sew from one shared pattern but take every member's measurements individually – the formation looks uniform and each costume still fits. We use tear-resistant fabrics, reinforce seams at shoulders and pockets and leave allowance for later adjustments. In following years we alter the existing costumes for new members instead of replacing the whole series. Get in touch early for group orders – ideally in autumn.

No. You can bring your own fabric, but we also advise on the choice and source suitable material – the main thing is that it is hard-wearing and weatherproof.
Yes. On children's costumes we deliberately leave hem and seam allowance so the costume can be let out again next year with little effort.
Usually yes. Bring a photo or sketch; we tell you on site what can be reproduced and what we would solve differently.
Yes. We make costumes to a Sujet pattern for Basel cliques; the work is done in our studio in Lucerne, as are fittings and collection.
